Saloni, Prerana into final

KATHMANDU, July 31:Saloni Tamang and Prerana Koirala have reached the finals of the girls’ U-14 section at the First ANLTA-JTI Junior National Lawn-Tennis Tournament on Monday.


In the semifinal matches played at Satdobato Tennis Court in Lalitpur, Saloni defeated Rayana Shah 6-1, 6-3 while Prerana saw off Abhilasha Bista for 6-1, 6-4.

In the last four matches of the boys’ U-14 section, Aadit Subedi and Samyak BB registered 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 and 6-1, 6-0 victories over Aryan Giri and Prasidha Moktan respectively. 


Meanwhile, Rayana Shah who crashed from the semifinal of U-14 category booked her place in the final of the U-12 girls’ section as she saw off Sharvani shrestha for 6-3, 6-4. Likewise in other semifinal matches of the same section, Isha Shree Shah beat Shubhangee Laxmi Shah 6-0, 6-3. 


Similarly Aryan Giri and Pranav Manandhar recorded wins in the boys’ U-12 section to book their places in the final, as they defeated Pritam Pariyar and Praisdha Moktan with the score lines of 6-0, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-0 in the semifinal matches. 


In the boys’ U-10 category, Aarav S Hada registered straight sets win of 6-0, 6-0 while Pranav Manandhar beat Sakshyam Bikram Shah 2-6, 7-5, 10-2 in the other match of same category.
