KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the main opposition party, CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the current five-party ruling alliance is in favor of neither the country nor the constitution. Speaking at a program organized by the Karnali Province Committee of the party on Sunday, Oli said the five-party alliance is against the country and its constitution.

Stating that only the CPN-UML can protect democracy and the constitution of the country, he claimed that the events of ‘satra saal’ (the royal coup of 1960, when King Mahendra dismissed the elected government) would have repeated itself if CPN-UML were not here. “The ‘satra saal’ would have repeated itself, if we were not here. Such a thing will not happen until the CPN-UML is here,” Oli said.
