KATHMANDU, June 29: Mahindra Raya Yadav, the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, has accused the contractor for the chemical fertilizer shortage in the country.
Speaking at an event organized at National Crop Science Research Center in Khumaltar to commemorate the 19th National Paddy Day, Minister Yadav said that due to the increase in price in the international market and negligence of the contractor, the chemical fertilizers could not be bought into the country on time. He also stated that the manure contracting system was ineffective.

Minister Yadav further stated that owing to the contractor's incompetence and the difficulties identified in the contract system, it should be considered whether the private sector should be involved in the import of fertilizers in the upcoming year.
