KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Defying fear and threat linked to Tuesday's bomb attack, all private schools in the capital city resumed their educational activities on Wednesday.
A group of youths had planted bombs at seven private schools in the Valley, out of which only two went of on the wee hours of Tuesday. No was hurt in the two explosions.
Manakamana Higher Secondary School and Akash Deep School of Jorpati, Kathmandu were the two schools that suffered bomb blast on Tuesday.
According to Private and Boarding Schools Organization Nepal (PABSON), all of the schools, except Manakamana HS School, which were the target of Tuesday's bomb explosion, opened on Wednesday.
Manakana School, which has postponed the terminal exam scheduled from Thursday, could not open due to flooding last night that affected the classrooms.
The security forces are closely monitoring the schools and Nepal Police personnel have been providing security to these schools.
“All of the private schools opened today. However, school staff and many students still feel terrorized by the shocking incident,” said DK Dhungana, general secretary of the PABSON.
Meanwhile, a team of PABSON called Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs
Bimalendra Nidhi and urged him to ensure security at all private schools, according to the PABSON. “We met DPM Nidhi at the ministry and appealed him to adopt security measures at all private schools,” said Dhgungana.
