Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jeevan Kumar Shrestha, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, stated that they are prepared to crack down on disorderly activities by deploying maximum traffic police on the valley's roads.

According to him, checkpoints at all entrances to the Kathmandu Valley and 90 other locations have been arranged for checks starting from 7 AM, aimed at reducing accidents during this year's Holi festivities. Additionally, 30 mobile vans have been deployed, and mobile patrols and checkpoints have been established as needed.

Under the security plan, police presence will be increased on main roads and intersections. SSP Shrestha mentioned that approximately 1,000 traffic policemen will be deployed for this purpose.

Monitoring efforts will target issues such as unnecessary honking, noisy driving, modifications causing loud noise, riding with three people on a motorcycle, failure to wear helmets, high speeds, and reckless driving. SSP Shrestha emphasized that stringent checks have been arranged for drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs, with joint checkpoints set up to address unruly behaviors such as unauthorized coloring of others, yelling, creating unnecessary noise, and engaging in fights.
