The song, written and composed by Yolmo, has been released in collaboration with Utpal Kandel and Nirvana Bista. Kandel is the music producer of the song while Bista is the lead guitarist.

Yolmo says, ‘Chhori’ was inspired from the bittersweet experience and stories that occurs in our society ever so often. Her lyrics approaches the event where a girl’s dream is merely recognised and supported by her family or society, instead is tided down by the stereotypical chores of marriage, and later with maternal responsibility.”

With her song, she is asking the society to have faith in her, and in her dreams, to be more than just a daughter, or a wife or a mother.

Yolmo says that this is the first song she ever wrote and is very close and special to her. She got the inspiration to write the song after listening to The Shadow Nepal’s “Balatkari Lai Phaasi de” song.

The song was released on Youtube on the occasion of the International Women's Day on Monday.
