KATHMANDU, July 10: Liu Jianchao, the head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka on Sunday.
Liu, who arrived in Nepal on Sunday morning for a four-day visit, had his first meeting with Deuba at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar. After paying a courtesy call on PM Deuba, he arrived at the Foreign Ministry in Singha Durbar on Sunday and held talks with Foreign Minister Khadka.

Foreign Minister Khadka hosted a dinner in honor of Jianchao at Hotel Marriott. Liu is leading an eight-member team. This is the second high-level visit from China since Nepal ratified the US-aid project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement through parliament.
The visiting Chinese delegation is scheduled to meet with leaders including President Bidya Devi Bhandari, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialists) Madhav Nepal and leader Jhala Nath Khanal.
