Siddhartha Art Gallery, Babermahal Revisited, is holding an abstract painting exhibition by artist Shivangini Rana. Rana’s solo exhibition titled ‘Bold and Beautiful’ features bold brush strokes with vibrant colors on canvas depicting her carefree and confident attitude.

According to Sangeeta Thapa, Founder Director of Siddhartha Art Gallery, Shivangini's bold and daring compositions are a reflection of her own ebullient personality. “Shivangini’s works can be seen as an artist’s reflections on life as she captures galaxies in motion and the power of nature. The garden and all its earthly delights are portrayed in her canvases- we see trees, flowers, birds, butterflies, feathers and prayer flags fluttering in the breeze. Her command of color is striking and her abstractions of these themes evoke joy,” shared Thapa.
Meanwhile, over the past 34 years, the gallery has been showcasing the works of young upcoming artists. In the course of acknowledging the talent of a younger generation of artists, the gallery this time has presented self-taught artist Rana.
The exhibition consisting a total of 31 artworks began on July 9 and continues till July 30. Here, we talked to Thapa and Rana about the exhibition and more:
