KATHMANDU, Feb 22: The interim order received by Batas Group against the government's decision to cancel the ‘Nepal-India Friendship Dharamshala’ operation contract has been revoked.

A joint bench of Patan High Court Judges Hari Prasad Bhandari and Mahendranath Upadhyaya dismissed the previous short-term interim order arguing that there was no need to give continuity to the order.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale had decided to cancel the contract with Batas Group last January on the basis of a report submitted by a probe committee led by Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) Treasurer Narayan Prasad Subedi.

Minister Ale's decision has now been duly implemented after the High Court issued an interim order.

Earlier, a single bench of Judge Narishwar Bhandari had issued a short-term interim order. The Patan High Court had summoned both the parties on Monday to discuss whether to issue an interim order as per the petitioner's demand.
