Sirjana: A Collective Art show 2021 kicked off on Friday at Nepal Art Council (NAC), Baber Mahal, representing the works of artists affiliated with the art gallery and Sirjana College of Fine Arts.
Srijana College is the organizer of the exhibition. In the exhibition one can see the works of senior artists including Shashi Bikram Shah, Batsa Gopal Vaidya, Madan Chitrakar, Krishna Manandhar, Navindra Rajbhandari and more. The artists have worked in various mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, mix media, and others. Their motifs are mainly nature, religion, landscape in realistic and abstract forms.

Then, there are works of artists Radheshyam Mulmi, Rajesh Gautam Sharad Man Shrestha, Shamjhana Rajbhandari, Bhawana Manandhar, Manish Lal Shrestha, Bijaya Maharjan, Mukesh Shrestha, Dewendra Pandey Chandra Dangol, Saurganga Dharsandhari, among others.
They have also used the motifs of nature, people, lifestyle, et cetera. Artist Sunil Ranjit's painting in colorful neon effects instantly gives a feel of joy. The vibrancy of the hues he used and the theme of culture really attract you.
Likewise, artist Bijaya Maharjan has showcased how traditional religious motifs can be transformed to modern art using photography where he has explored the manifestations of Tara. Among 21 major forms of Tara, he has worked on Red Tara, Black Tara, Yellow Tara and Blue Tara. Artist Bhawana Manandhar painted Nun, Singer and social worker Ani Choying Dorlma.
The exhibit ends with the exhibition of pop up paper art by Dewendra Pandey where his paper crafts have been inspired from settlements of value. Thus is the embodiment of glorious past, cultural and natural heritage. The exhibition has a galore of artworks that are colorful and has the capacity to stimulate senses, whether it is a painting, sculpture or installation.
The exhibition continues till April 28.
