Sitaula urges govt not to block budget for GP Koirala Memorial Hall

JHAPA, Jan 20: Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has urged the government not to obstruct the release of budget to the GP Koirala Memorial Hall which is under construction in Jhapa district.


During a news conference organized by Press Club here today, the former Home Minister Sitaula accused the government of blocking the budget for the hall being built in memory of the former Prime Minister GP Koirala.

Present Prime Minister KP Oli, then Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had jointly laid the foundation stone for the construction of the memorial hall at the west of Mechi Stadium of Bhadrapur Municipality-8 on July 13, 2015.


Prera Shah JB was contracted at Rs 129 million for the construction. Although the undertaking had to be completed by two years of the commencement, 25 percent of the works is till left. Leader Sitaula especially urged PM Oli to take initiative to complete the construction with smooth release of budget. RSS
