LAMJUNG, Mar 21: As many as six people died and two others sustained severe injuries when a truck plunged into Marshyangdi River at Lamjung Besisahar-Chum road section of Naso Rural Municipality-3 of Lamjung district.
The ill-fated truck (Dha 1 Kha 592) fell some 50 meters down the road into the river on Saturday evening, according to Police Inspector Om Prakash Pun of District Police Station, Lamjung.
One killed as truck plunges into Rapti River
The deceased have been identified as Manisha Gurung, 35, Jal Kashi Gurung, 37, and Leun Gurung, 7, of Naso Rural Municipality-4. Likewise, Dhan Man BK, 28, of Chame Rural Municipality-4, Laxman Nepali, 21, of Marshyangdi Rural Municipality-5 and Theon Gurung, 3, of Naso Rural Municipality-1 were also killed in the same accident. Of the six deceased, three breathed their last while undergoing a treatment.
Likewise, Suman Tamang, 24 of Bhanu Municipality-3 and Mel Gurung, 7, of Naso-3 have sustained severe injuries. They are currently undergoing treatment at the District Hospital of Lamjung.
