Slience period begins for NA election (with video)

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Election Commission (EC) has urged all the political parties and three tiers of government to strictly follow the election code of conduct in view of the upcoming election of National Assembly slated for January 23.

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Election Commission (EC) has urged all the political parties and three tiers of government to strictly follow the election code of conduct in view of the upcoming election of National Assembly slated for January 23.

Stating that the silence period has already started, the EC urged the one and all to follow the election code. According to Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, the silence period started from Monday midnight. "Therefore, I would like to ask all the concerned not to make any publicity during this period."


Vote appeal through social networking sites and electronic medium too is restricted during this period. Moreover, no one is allowed to conduct any program or interaction or voter education or press meet with the intention to influence the entire election process.
