KATHMANDU, April 22: The upper Himalayan region of Nepal is witnessing snowfall as the weather is partly to generally cloudy throughout the country.
Most of the Western, Central and Eastern mountainous regions witnessed slight snowfall on Thursday.
Westerly wind likely to cause rain, snowfall
The upper belt of Helambu Rural Municipality also witnessed slight snowfall this morning. Helambu usually does not receive snowfall at this time of the year.
Brief rain/ thundershowers is likely to occur at some places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudur Paschim provinces and light rain or thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places of the hilly regions of the country, reads the weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
The weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of the country tonight as well. Brief rain or thundershower is likely at some places of the hilly regions of the country.
