DOLPA, Feb 5: Dolpa, a mountainous district in Karnali Province, has witnessed heavy snowfall since Thursday evening.
It is the first time the district is witnessing snowfall this winter. Usually, mountainous districts in Nepal receive snowfall from the beginning of Mangsir but this year most of such regions are yet to receive snowfall.
Snowfall affects life in Dolpa
Normal life in upper Dolpa is largely hit by snowfall where district headquarters and other lower regions are witnessing light to moderate snow and rainfall. However, the snowfall has brought a wave of excitement among farmers except for herders, as agriculture in the mountain region totally depends on winter rain and snow.
Dolpo Buddha, Shey-Phoksundo and Kaike Rural Municipality in upper Dolpa are among those regions receiving heavy snowfall.
