Soniya competing with Russian player Irina in judo on July 24

KATHMANDU, July 22: It has been confirmed that the Nepali player Soniya Bhatta will compete with a Russian player, Dolgova Irina, in judo at the 32nd Summer Olympics to be held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.

KATHMANDU, July 22: It has been confirmed that the Nepali player Soniya Bhatta will compete with a Russian player, Dolgova Irina, in judo at the 32nd Summer Olympics to be held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.


The Olympics are being held from July 23 to August 8.

As per the match schedule published today, the match between judo players- Soniya and Irina has been confirmed.


The 19-year-old Soniya will compete under the 48-kg group. She is at the 127th position in the world ranking while Irina is placed at the ninth spot in the ranking.


The match will be held on July 24.


The winner of the match will be determined on the same day. She has been selected in the Olympics through a wild card. Soniya had won a bronze medal in the 13th South Asian Games organised in Nepal. RSS
