Gautam was born in Jhapa and was pregnant with a baby boy at just 16. She says she lost her husband while her son was still in her womb. “Raising my son on my own was a tough task. I did all I could to raise him. In return, I insisted he to focus on his studies,” she said. Her son now works in a finance company. With their joint savings, the mother-son duo built their permanent home in Dillibazar.
