Southampton signs Morocco forward Boufal from Lille

LONDON, Aug 29: Southampton has broken its club record for a transfer fee to sign Morocco forward Sofiane Boufal from Lille.

LONDON, Aug 29: Southampton has broken its club record for a transfer fee to sign Morocco forward Sofiane Boufal from Lille.


The English Premier League team said on Monday the 22-year-old Boufal signed a five-year deal.

The fee was not disclosed. British media have reported Boufal is costing Southampton 17 million pounds ($22.25 million).


Boufal scored 12 goals in 34 games for Lille last season.
