Speaker extends best wishes on occasion of Nepal Sambat

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has expressed the confidence that the Nepal Sambat calendar which remains as Nepal's indigenous calendar will inspire in enhancing social unity, tolerance and mutual harmony among the Nepalis.

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has expressed the confidence that the Nepal Sambat calendar which remains as Nepal's indigenous calendar will inspire in enhancing social unity, tolerance and mutual harmony among the Nepalis. 


In a message of best wishes on the occasion of the Nepal Sambat New Year 1144 today, the Speaker wished for the peace, happiness, good health, prosperity and long life of all Nepali sisters and brothers within the country and abroad.

"The Nepal Sambat calendar which has cultural and historical significance does not belong to a particular caste or community, but is an asset of entire Nepal and Nepalis," the Speaker said in his message.


Noting that rather than limiting it, it is necessary to establish the Nepal Sambat calendar with historical recognition on a strong footing from the state and people's level as well, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament, reiterated the state’s and the citizen's responsibility to preserve every unique tradition and culture.
