KATHMANDU, March 13: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Agni Prasad Sapkota has made a special appeal to parliamentarians to help run the House smoothly by ending the obstruction in parliament.
In today's meeting of the HoR, Speaker Sapkota drew the attention of the protesting parliamentarians toward the situation where the parliamentarians were not able to discuss issues of public concern and country due to obstruction of the House by the CPN (UML) lawmakers.
Furthermore, the Speaker said that formulation of acts, bills, and laws were also adversely affected as the opposition lawmakers continued disrupting the House proceedings.

Sapkota said, "The members of the House have been drawing my attention repeatedly to ensure the effective operation of the House. Concerns have been raised among the public to make parliament more effective."
According to him, parliamentary business such as endorsing 42 bills that were under deliberation, sharing people's problems in parliament, holding the government accountable to parliament, and formulation of laws among others have been affected due to the obstruction in the House.
"It is the responsibility of all of us to help endorse the under-deliberation bills and run the state affairs," he argued.
CPN-UML, the main opposition, has been obstructing the House since the beginning of the current session of parliament saying that the Speaker did not publish notice about the expulsion of 14 UML lawmakers from the party.
