KATHMANDU,Aug 12: Monsoon brings joy with rain. On the contrary, it also turns as ugly when the same rain is contaminated by harmful bacteria and cause skin problems. Dermatologist Dr Smriti Shrestha says it is the time of the year people face a lot of dreadful skin allergies and infections. Shrestha said that the main cause of monsoon allergy is the sun and wind.
“The prevalence of scorching sunlight when mixed with the bacteria carrying wind affects our tender skin. To top it all, the ever-rising pollution plays an even more vital role in causing monsoon allergies," Shrestha stated. “Ground-level ozone is the highest during the summer season which can bring toxic effects to the sensitive skin. The chemicals coming from the vehicles, UV-rays of the sun, and the infectious wind collectively provoke skin allergies during monsoon.”
