Student attacked while returning from Grade 12 exam in Jhapa

KATHMANDU, May 3: A student was attacked on Friday while returning home after taking her Grade 12 exam in Jhapa.


Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Krishna Chand of the District Police Office in Jhapa informed Republica that 18-year-old Enika Adhikari sustained minor injuries in the attack. She has been taken to Life Line Hospital in Damak for treatment. Adhikari is a student at Himalaya Secondary School in Damak.

Adhikari, who was attacked, claimed that she was shot. Chief District Officer Bandhu Prasad Bastola stated, "There has been an attack on the student. She claims to have been shot. Information has also been provided by identifying the person who is alleged to have fired the shot at her. Currently, her condition is stable. An investigation into the incident is underway."
