KATHMANDU, April 27: With private schools continually charging inflated price for education, student unions have the drawn attention of local governments today.
The five major student unions submitted letter across the country demanding government agency to look into fee structures of private schools.

“We are protesting against private schools to make education accessible and affordable to all. Support of local government will help to do so,” Nain Singh Mahar, Chair of Nepal Student Union.
He stated that local governments must also work to make government-owned and community schools attractive by improving quality education.
The student unions have been demanding implementation of Private Schools Fee structure Directive-2015. On Wednesday they jointly stage a protest and gheraoed the Department of Education, Bhaktapur.
