Students taking SEE exam must score minimum 35 marks to pursue higher studies

BHAKTAPUR, Jan 26: The National Examination Board (NEB) is set to conduct and release the results of this year's Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in accordance with the Letter Grading Directive of 2078 BS. The NEB has scheduled the SEE for this year to take place from March 28 to April 9.

BHAKTAPUR, Jan 26: The National Examination Board (NEB) is set to conduct and release the results of this year's Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in accordance with the Letter Grading Directive of 2078 BS. The NEB has scheduled the SEE for this year to take place from March 28 to April 9. 


Dr Mahashram Sharma, Chairman of the NEB, informed Republica that the NEB has published the timetable for regular and grade enhancement exams during this period. He mentioned that class 10 students will undergo the exam based on the new syllabus and the results will adhere to the Letter Grading Directive of 2078 BS. He emphasized that students participating in this year's examination must attain a minimum of 35 percent marks in theory i.e., 35 marks in each subject.

According to him, students must score 35 percent in SEE now in order to study higher education. He said that students who  score less than 35 percent will be ungraded.


According to the directive, if a student scores less than 35 points in the theoretical section, they will be marked as unclassified (non-graded) on their results and the original certificate will not be issued. In such a situation, it has been arranged that one can get a chance to take a re-exam of two subjects up to three times. 


Nandalal Paudel, Controller of SEE Examination Control Office said that 489,000 examinees will participate in this year's SEE regular and grade enhancement exams. The NEB has already implemented the grading system in class 11 and 12.


The NEB has intensified the preparation for the exam. According to the NEB, the preparation of other materials such as printing of answer sheets, printing of question papers and determination of examination centers has started.
