Female students suffer from mass hysteria in Khotang

KHOTANG, July 12: A regular class has been disturbed after female students suffered from mass hysteria at Ratna Rajya Laxmi Primary School in Ruwabeshi rural municipality-1, Khotang.

KHOTANG, July 12: A regular class has been disturbed after female students suffered from mass hysteria at Ratna Rajya Laxmi Primary School in Ruwabeshi rural municipality-1, Khotang.


Female students have been suffering from mass hysteria for the last four days. In the beginning, three students suffered from this disease. The number of female students who suffered from it reached seven by Thursday. None of the male students have suffered from this disease so far

Headache, stomach pain, eyeballs problems and abnormal shouting are some of the symptoms observed in the health clinic, said Shankar Prasad Baral, Health Assistant at the Clinic. Some female students started suffering from this disease from June 16, 2019. It gradually spread among other female students.


Baral has advised that they be kept in a silent place. He has also advised treating them with the help of psychotherapy if the symptoms apppear again.


Mass Hysteria has been decreased after the Ratna Rajya Laxmi School was closed down for four days. Baral has advised the school administration to close down the school in order to control the disease.
