KATHMANDU, March 5: Sudurpaschim Chief Minister (CM) Kamal Shah has received overwhelming support from the provincial assembly members in the vote of confidence on Sunday.
Shah sought the vote of confidence in the provincial assembly meeting held on Sunday afternoon. In the voting, 52 provincial assembly members participated. Of them, Shah got the support of 41 votes. There were 11 votes against him.

UML's Rajendra Singh Rawal, who had previously become the chief minister, had failed to get a vote of confidence, and his government collapsed within a month.
After the fall of Rawal's government, Shah was appointed as the chief minister as the leader of the parliamentary party of the Nepali Congress, the largest party in the province assembly.
