Sunsari clinches 6th Eastern Regional Taekwondo Sports Championship

SUNSARI, Jan 14: Sunsari became champion in the 6th Eastern Regional Taekwondo Sports Championship concluded today in Itahari Sub Metropolitan City. It bagged six gold and two bronzes medals.

SUNSARI, Jan 14: Sunsari became champion in the 6th Eastern Regional Taekwondo Sports Championship concluded today in Itahari Sub Metropolitan City. It bagged six gold and two bronzes medals.


Likewise, Dhankuta claimed second position by winning four gold medals, and one bronze followed by Jhapa in third position with two gold medals and one bronze. Morang secured one gold and four bronzes, while Ilam one gold.

In men's 54 kilograms category, Dabbu Rai of Sunsari won one gold medal, while Sudip Pradhan of Ilam one bronze medal. In 58 kg group, Shukra BK of Dhankuta claimed one gold medal and Aayush Giri of Morang one bronze medal. 


Likewise, Yuddha BK of Dhankuta secured one gold medal in men's 68 kg category, and Tirth Bahadur Raut of Sankhuwasab one bronze medal. 


In 74 kg group, Niraj Chauhan of Jhapa won one gold medal, while Minnat Ansari one bronze medal. 


Likewise, in women's 43 kg category, Binita Ghimire of Dhankuta won one gold medal, and Laxmi Rajbamshi of Jhapa one bronze medal. In 49 kg group, Soni Limbu of Sunsari secured one gold medal while Sudeshna Gurung of Morang one bronze medal. 


The winners received medals, and certificates amid a programme organised here today. The championship was organised by the Eastern Regional Taekwondo Committee with financial help of the National Sports Council. RSS
