Tangled mess of wires in Thamel area to be removed

KATHMANDU, August 5: The cluttered wires in Thamel, the main tourist destination of the capital, will be removed. A meeting of the bodies concerned at the office of the Thamel Tourism Development Council on Thursday decided to remove the cables of various service-providing companies placed in a cluttered manner within Thamel.

KATHMANDU, August 5: The cluttered wires in Thamel, the main tourist destination of the capital, will be removed. A meeting of the bodies concerned at the office of the Thamel Tourism Development Council on Thursday decided to remove the cables of various service-providing companies placed in a cluttered manner within Thamel.


Chairman of the Council, Bhavishor Sharma said that the Council is working to solve the problems seen in Thamel in order to make the main tourist center of the capital organized and beautiful. The meeting also formed a seven-member committee for the removal of the tangled mess of wires and cables of various service providers in Thamel.

The committee consists of Vice-Chairman Sahadev Dhamala on behalf of the Council, Sudhir Parajuli on behalf of cable TV, Subas Khadka on behalf of ISPAN, Sarita Maharjan and Sunil Karna on behalf of Nepal Telecom, Dipendra Budhathoki on behalf of Nepal Electricity Authority and Binayak Budhathoki on behalf of Ncell. 


Similarly, the Council has been working to solve the problems of sewage, parking problems, and the problem of people begging in the streets.
