Tax officer Sapkota’s case handed over to CIAA as source of money remains undisclosed

NEPALGUNJ, Sept 11: Khagendra Sapkota, a tax officer of the Inland Revenue Office, Tulsipur, who was arrested at Nepalgunj Airport, has been handed over to the Liaison Office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lumbini Province, Nepalgunj.

NEPALGUNJ, Sept 11: Khagendra Sapkota, a tax officer of the Inland Revenue Office, Tulsipur, who was arrested at Nepalgunj Airport, has been handed over to the Liaison Office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lumbini Province, Nepalgunj.


Since Sapkota could not disclose the source of the money in his possession, he has been referred to the CIAA for further investigation.

According to Narayan Dangi, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson for Banke District Police Office, Sapkota was taken to the District Police Office and given time to reveal his money source. However, he could not reveal the source of the money he had.


On Monday morning, the police arrested him with Rs 2.6 million cash in his bag when he was about to leave Nepalgunj for Kathmandu on a Shree Airlines flight.
