NEPALGUNJ, May 7: As many as 10 COVID-19 patients died from the virus in Banke in the last 24 hours. Those dying of COVID-19 in various hospitals in Banke district include eight people from Banke and one each from Bardiya and Kailali districts.
A 54-year-old woman from Nepalgunj-10 breathed her last in Bheri Hospital. She was tested positive for coronavirus during a PCR test conducted in Nepalgunj Medical Hospital on April 24. She was kept in home isolation after she tested positive.
Family sources said she was admitted to Bheri Hospital on May 4 after her health deteriorated. She was pronounced dead on Friday (May 7) at 6AM.
Also, a 60-year-old woman from Nepalgunj-12 of Banke breathed her last at Bheri Hospital. She was pronounced dead on Friday at 3:30AM. She tested positive for the virus on April 26. She was admitted to the hospital three days after she tested positive for the virus.
17 COVID-19 patients died within 13 hours in Banke
Similarly, a 52-year-old male from Nepalgunj-3 who tested positive for COVID-19 on April 26 died at 3AM Friday as he was undergoing treatments at the Bheri Hospital.
A 56-year-old woman from Nepalgunj-18 died from COVID-19 on Friday at 2AM. She tested positive for the virus on May 3. She was admitted to the hospital a day later.
Also, a 34-year-old male from Nepalgunj-6 of Banke succumbed to the coronavirus while undergoing treatment at the Bheri hospital on Thursday at 9:30PM. He was admitted to the hospital on May 6 after testing positive on May 4.
A 48-year-old female from Tikapur-2 of Kailali died while undergoing treatment at the Bheri Hospital. She was tested positive on April 14 and was admitted to the hospital a day later. She died on Thursday at 11:30PM.
A 47-years-old male from Barbardiya-6 of Bardiya died from COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital. He was pronounced dead on Thursday at 9PM. The deceased was tested positive for COVID-19 on May 4 and was admitted to the hospital on May 6.
Similarly, a 54-years-old male from Nepalgunj-6 of Banke died while receiving treatment at the Nepalgunj Medical College on Thursday at 6:50PM. He was admitted to the hospital on May 3 after testing positive.
A 27-year-old woman from Kohalpur-10 of Banke died at the Medical College Teaching Hospital of Kohalpur. The deceased had tested positive on May 3 and was admitted to the hospital on May 5. She died on Thursday at 5:40PM.
Also, a 61-year-old male from Nepalgunj-10 of Banke succumbed to the virus while undergoing treatment at the Bheri Hospital on Thursday at around 5PM. He was tested positive for COVID-19 after conducting a PCR test on April 25 and was admitted to the hospital on April 28.
According to Tej Oli, focal person for the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (DCCMC), the death toll from COVID-19 in Banke has reached 169 with additional deaths of 130 people from outer districts who had received treatments in Banke.
