KATHMANDU, Jan 15: According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, the plane of Yeti Airlines, which crashed in Pokhara this morning, had received the permission to land.
Gyanendra Bhul, information officer of CAAN, said that the plane that took off from Kathmandu airport at 10:33 this morning had taken permission to land before the accident.
"Weather was not a problem, preliminary information has been received that the plane crashed due to technical reasons,” he said, “Information has been received that flames were seen in the plane while it was still air-borne.”

The plane was carrying four crew members and 68 passengers. The aircraft was flown by senior captains Kamal KC and Anju Khatiwada.
The aircraft crashed 10 seconds before the touch-down at the Pokhara airport. According to the source of Pokhara International Airport, this plane had an accident while landing from the west on Sunday.
According to an Air traffic controller, the runway of Pokhara International Airport is east-west. Runway 3-0 is the east runway and Runway-1-2 is the west runway. The aircraft, which initially sought permission to land from the east (Runway 3-0), later turned its runway direction from the west (Runway-1-2).
"The accident happened while going around the sky above the old airport," said the controller. The controller added,” The plane would have reached the runway in 10 seconds. However, the plane met with an accident in the mid-way. The reason has not yet been revealed.
