ICC World Cup Cricket League-2: The Netherlands defeat Namibia by seven wickets

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: The Netherlands registered their first victory under the tri-series of ICC World Cup Cricket League-2, defeating Namibia by seven wickets today.

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: The Netherlands registered their first victory under the tri-series of ICC World Cup Cricket League-2, defeating Namibia by seven wickets today. 


Netherlands met the target of 124 runs posted by Namibia in 27.2 overs at the loss of three wickets in the match played at TU Cricket ground, Kirtipur. 


With this victory, the Netherlands collected two points in two matches. Nepal had defeated the Netherlands by  nine wickets in the first match.

Similarly, Namibia have two points. In the first match, Namibia defeated Nepal by four wickets. 


In today's match, Michael Levitt of the Netherlands contributed the highest 57 runs for the win while Max O' Dowd scored 28 runs followed by Bas de Leede’s 21 runs. Similarly, Zerrad Erasmus took three wickets for Namibia. 


Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Namibia scored 123 runs in 35.1 overs losing all wickets. JJ Smit of Namibia gathered 26 runs, Zane Green 19 runs, and Ruben Trumpelmann 20 runs. Likewise, Nikolaas Davin , Captain Zerrad Erasmus and Bernard  Scholtz scored 13 runs each. 


For the bowling side, Aryan Dutta of the Netherlands took six wickets and Kayla Klein two wickets and Roelof van der  Merwe  took one wicket.
