TI Nepal mentioned that the general limitation period for prosecuting corruption cases, which is 5 years from the date of discovery, should be increased. There is apprehension raised over the possible increase of the limitation period as not only the big corruption cases that were put on hold due to political pressure but also the high-level, unprosecuted cases that have been public knowledge for years will never be put under investigation, instead becoming yet another way for corrupt people to gain immunity.
