KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Three bridges on the Narayanghat-Mugling road section have come into operation. The bridges built over the Rigdhi, Khor and Bhorle rivulets have been operational since today.
Krishna Acharya, information officer of the Nagdhunga-Mugling Road Project West Section (Narayanghat-Mugling) stated that vehicles are now passing through all the three bridges. He said that although the final layer of blacktopping on the bridges is left, the vehicular movement has started.

According to Acharya, 12 bridges of the road section have been put into operation. Out of 19 bridges, the construction of four bridges has been completed in the first phase. Out of the 15 bridges of the latest package, eight have been completed. Acharya said that the construction of four more bridges will be completed within two months.
All the bridges in the Bharatpur Metropolitan City of the road section will be completed by mid-March. Project Engineer Bijay Darai said that the deadline for this package is till mid-April. Out of the eight bridges, three bridges are still under construction. Darai said that the construction of Jugedi, Khare and Simal taal bridges would be completed within two months.
There is a deadline of one year for the construction of the bridge towards Ichchakamana. Out of the seven bridges, two have been put into operation. Darai said that except for two bridges, all constructions are being completed by mid-June.
While the construction of the Khare river bridge is going on, in the Tuin river, the road is being closed during the day and the hill is being chopped off for the construction of the bridge. So far, 15 meters of the hill has been chopped off. According to the project, most of the work is being done in the extended time.
Janak Construction was responsible for the construction of 15 bridges on this road section from March 2020. The bridge was built with the help of the World Bank. About 10,000 vehicles pass through this road every day. This is the main road to enter and exit the capital from Terai. The bridge underwent expansion a few years ago along with the widening of the road.
