KHOTANG, May 7: Three children from a village have gone missing while swimming in the Sunkoshi river in Khotehang rural municipality-2. 


Suman, the 12-year-old son of Dhan Narayan Shrestha, Samin, the 10-year-old son of Jeevan Majhi and Anita, the 11-year-old daughter of Dhruva Majhi have been missing since they reportedly drowned in the river on Saturday afternoon.

The children had gone to herd goats. They drowned while swimming in the river, according to DSP at the District Police Office Lokdarshan Thapa. One of the friend drowned and the second and third drowned while trying to save their friend, it is learnt. The fourth one reported the incident to their family. 


A police team from the Area Police Office in Chisapani has been mobilized to search for the missing children.
