Three held for fraud of over Rs 2.2 million

UDAYAPUR, May 14: The District Police Office, Udayapur, has arrested three persons on the charge of swindling people out of over Rs 2.2 million, telling them that they had won a lottery and they were required to pay a certain amount in advance for taxation.

UDAYAPUR, May 14: The District Police Office, Udayapur, has arrested three persons on the charge of swindling people out of over Rs 2.2 million, telling them that they had won a lottery and they were required to pay a certain amount in advance for taxation. 


The arrested are being investigated under the Fraud and Extortion Offense.

Those arrested in this connection are Ujjwal Thapa Magar and Bishal Thapa Magar of Katari Municipality-3, Udayapur district and Sushil Shrestha of Ratnanagar Municipality-2, Chitwan district. Of them, Bishal was caught from his hideout in Buddhanagar of Kathmandu Metropolis-10. 


Police have already filed a case against Bishal Thapa Magar of Kathmandu Metropolis-10, according to Udayapur Police Chief and Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Phuyal.


They allegedly forged lottery papers to cheat the people with over Rs 2.2 million.
