Three Nepali women rescued from India

KATHMANDU, Oct 9: Joint efforts from Manakamna Ekta Foundation and Prahar Janashakti party of India have led to the rescue of three Nepali women from Virar, Maharastra, India.

KATHMANDU, Oct 9: Three Nepali women have been rescued from Maharastra of India recently, who had become victims of human trafficking.


A joint team of Manakamna Ekta Foundation and Prahar Janashakti Party of India rescued the girls during their raid in a house at Virar, Maharastra following a tip off by an unknown caller.

Those rescued are namely Srijana Budathoki aged 22, from Khotang, Somali Tamang aged 27, from Kavre, and Simkumari Bhujel, aged 33, from Durgapur, according to a press release issued by the Manakamna Ekta Foundation.


The organization stated in the press release that the three women held captive in a room for one month, who were brought to Mumbai via Sunauli-Gorakhpur border point.


It was revealed during the police interrogation at Police Control Virar that the trafficked women were offered jobs in Oman before taking them to India by their Nepali agents.


With the help of police, Manakamna Ekta Foundation and Prahar Janashakti Party of India rescued the trafficked Nepali women.


The Virar police arrested two agents Shakil Yousuf Khan and Abdul Kayuum Noor Mohmad in this connection. The organization said that the girls will be sent to Nepal after their case is over at the local court.
