After Speaker Devraj Ghimire gave time, UML Chief Whip Padam Giri objected to the unconstitutional verification of the bill. He demands that this bill should be kept inactive again and a new bill should be brought in the parliament.

He objected to the fact that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had expressed his intention during his visit to India that he was ready to give Kalapani to get access to the Phulwari port of Bangladesh. He said that the PM should come to the parliament and apologize, otherwise the parliament will not be able to function.

Santosh Pariyar, chief whip of RSP, also said that the process of verifying the Citizenship Bill was wrong.

RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden also protested saying that the presidential institution has been misused for vested interests.
