JUMLA, May 7: Three people from Jumla have died in the avalanche.


Tarasingh Sarki, 40, Punna Sarki, 36, and Bir Bohora, 36, years old from Talfi village of Patarasi rural municipality-2 of Jumla have died.

According to Jan Maya Rokaya, vice chairperson of Patarasi village, out of the total of 14 people, 3 people have died while others are injured. She said that they have received news that two people are safe. 


According to Rokaya, they were caught in an avalanche at Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality-2, Charkhu, a lake. They had gone to that area to collect Yarsagumba.


Rokaya also had informed the district administration office of Mugu, the provincial government and the federal government to rescue them. Efforts are being made for rescue from all areas and it is said that there will be problems in the rescue due to the geographical situation.
