KATHMANDU: Police on Monday evening arrested three persons including an Indian national for their alleged involvement in gold and silver theft worth more than Rs 200,000.

KATHMANDU: Police on Monday evening arrested three persons including an Indian national for their alleged involvement in gold and silver theft worth more than Rs 200,000.


A team of police from the Metropolitan Crime Division arrested Milan Tamang, a resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City-10, Prem Tamang, Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality-4, and Rishimuni Kumar, an Indian national.

According to police, the arrested are accused of gold and silver theft worth Rs 223,720 from Nor Gold and Silver House at Sarkari Dhara in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.


A preliminary investigation by the police found that Milan Tamang looted the gold shop, while Prem Tamang and Rishimuni Kumar purchased the looted jewelleries.


Police said that it is further investigating the case.
