KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Thulo Bharyang Yatayat Karyalaya has resumed driver’s license trials of all kinds at Vehicle Academy and Research Center in Chandragiri Municipality. The Academy is spread across 35 ropanis, and can conduct trials of 1,500 motorcycles and 700 cars daily, said Devendra Pradhan, the owner of the Academy.
Pradhan informed that this is the biggest trial center in the country, and the trial is being resumed after more than nine months, which was closed due to the pandemic. He said that the trial could have been resumed earlier but due to lack of coordination between the federal and provincial governments, the work was delayed.

The Academy has put in place strict safety measures. “We have not compromised on the safety of the people who come here for the trial,” said Pradhan.
More than 1,50,000 people are in queue for licence trial. Pradhan says that if the government were to cooperate, they could double the trial capacity in no time. “We don’t understand why we can only conduct 100 trials per day,” he said.
