NEPALGUNJ, May 24: Thunderstorm from light to moderate accompanied with gusty winds and lightning has been forecast at some places of eastern and central regions and at a few places of the western region today due to the impact of western low pressure system.
The sky remains partly to generally cloudy at almost all parts of the country. Meteorological Forecasting Division’s meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti said the low pressure trough formed in east and impact of wind carrying water vapor and local wind has triggered thundershowers.

However, this development will not last long as this is pre-monsoon time. On Saturday, sky will remain partly cloudy at most parts of the country and thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places of western and central region in afternoon.
Similarly, on Sunday, some places of eastern region are likely to experience light shower accompanied by wind due to partial to generally cloudy sky in the hilly regions.
The Division’s latest details put the Kathmandu Valley’s minimum temperature at 17.5 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature has been measured at 30.0 degrees Celsius. Nepalgunj recorded the highest temperature across the country as its maximum temperature reached 42.0 degrees Celsius today.
