KATHMANDU, June 14: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale today said that the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) would be made a model airport in terms of cleanliness.

He said this while handing certificates to the participants of a two-week international-standard sanitation training. One hundred and fifty-two cleaning staff including the employees from the private sector and working at the TIA attended the training.

"We have put an end to the situation of tourists arriving at the airport to cover their noses. It is the responsibility of the cleaning staff to keep the airport neat and clean. I urge you to make the maximum use of the skills and knowledge learnt in the course of the training. I will support you in this," he said, stressing the need for keeping the airport clean to enhance the nation's dignity.
