KANCHANPUR, April 23: The Royal Bengal tiger that attacked and killed a woman here will be transported to the Central Zoo in Lalitpur, said the Shuklaphanta National Park.

"The big cat will be sent to the zoo as we lack adequate resources to keep it in the Park, or it may cause human losses in the days to come," said Roshan Thagunna, assistant conservation officer at the Park.

The wild animal fled after attacking and killing a woman identified Ganga Chand, 42, at Belauri Pachui on last Friday while she was collecting fodder, said the police. However, five other women, who accompanied Chand to collect fodder, narrowly escaped the attack.

A team led by tiger expert Dr Dinesh Devkota held the tiger from Belauri Municipality in Kanchanpur district the following day.
