"We have not done anything wrong. We are ready to provide all the documents to the committee within 24 hours," Adhikari said, adding: "We welcome any decisions taken by the committee."

The minister further asked the committee not to doubt on the necessity of wide-body aircraft for our country.

"In order to meet the global market needs, and for the development of our tourism sector, we need to operate wide-body aircraft,” he said. "Unless we have our own national flag carrier directly connecting to the international market, we can't expect that the number of tourists will grow."

He claimed that both wide-body aircraft were purchased following due procedure. He said: "If the investigation finds anything wrong during the procurement process, we are ready to face any actions."
