BARDIYA, Jan 31: The movement of domestic and foreign tourists has started to increase in the Bardiya National Park. According to the park administration, tourists come here to see wild animals such as tigers, leopards, elephants in the park.*
Ashok Kumar Ram, chief conservation officer of the park, said that after the number of tigers in the park rose to 125, the number of domestic and foreign tourists increased. Informing that about 90 percent of tourists have seen tigers, he said that by the end of December of the previous fiscal year, 2,000 foreign tourists had come, but now it has reached around 4,000 by mid-January of this fiscal year.
Similarly, by mid-Jnauary of the previous year, 6,000 domestic tourists visited the park, but by the end of December this year, the number had reached 10,000. By the end of January last year, 500 tourists from SAARC countries had visited the site, but by the end of January this year, it had reached 800. Chief Conservation Officer Ram said that the number of tourists who want to see tigers has increased this year compared to last year.
Tourist arrival at CNP rises in FY 2023/24
Mentioning that this park has been established as a center for tourism, he said, "About 20,000 tourists will visit the park this year, the main reason for this being the increased number of tigers, so they can see them directly." According to Chief Conservation Officer Ram, the number of American tourists is increasing as tourists from countries such as America, Germany, France, New Zealand, China, and India visit the park.
