KATHMANDU, July 2: The tourist visa service that was suspended so far due to COVID-19 pandemic is coming into operation from today.
The Department of Immigration had earlier suspended visa services other than those related to emergency cases.
Visa services for foreign nationals resume from today
Stating that the government has relaxed the prohibitory order with operation of both domestic and international flights, transportation and other services, the department said that it has decided to resume its operation.
According to the department, foreigners with valid visas upto April 28 and wanting to leave the country before July 8 will be exempt of visa charges at the Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport. Similarly, those who want to extend their stay in Nepal will be granted a visa and will be exempt of late charge and fine if they submit an application at the department or offices under it.
Foreigners, who visit the department or offices under it after July 8, will have to pay both visa fees and late charges.
