KATHMANDU, July 22: Tribhuvan Army Club Team A of the Nepal Army has won the title of 2nd CoAS International Tri-Marathon Contest 2075 by covering a 43.5-km distance in 2 hours 18 minutes and 49 seconds on Saturday.
Similary Team B of the Same Tribhuvan Army Club of the Nepal Army stood in the second position by completing the distance in 2 hours 28 minutes and 34 seconds while Armed Police Froce grabbed the third position by covering the distance in 2 hours 31 minutes and 21 seconds.
Tribhuvan Army Club Team A received Rs 150,000 as crash prize along with trophy and medals, Tribhuvan Army Club Team B got Rs 100,000 and AFP received Rs 75,000 along with trophy and medals.
Tribhuvan Army Club wins tri-marathon competition
The competitors had to travel a total of 43.7 km-long distance including 6.7-km run, 26-km cycling and 11-km rafting in the contest.
A total of 52 contestants from 13 teams – 4 from each team – had participated in the marathon contest.
The teams include Tribhuvan Army Club Team A, Tribhuvan Army Club Team B, Armed Police Force, five teams from Nepal clubs, one team from women, two teams from British Gurkhas, one from Bangladesh and one team from Sri Lanka.
Nepal Army generals, assistant chief district officer, district representatives from the security agencies, media persons were present in the event in which CoAS General Rajendra Chhetri was invited as the chief guest.
