KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Tribhuvan University and the University of Nevada, Reno, USA, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote research and academic collaboration.
The main objective of the MoU is to promote educational, technical, and cultural exchanges and collaboration between the two universities. The exchange visits of faculty members and students, joint research activities, exchange of academic materials for research and publications, joint organizations of seminars/academic meetings, and short-term academic programs are some of the main focuses of the MoU. The MoU was effective upon signature by both universities (January 2, 2023) for a period of five years.

Prof Dr Dharma Kanta Baskota, vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University, and David Shintani, vice-provost of the University of Nevada, Reno, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective universities. The MoU was recommended and signed by Cairn A Lindloff of the University of Nevada, Reno.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at TU's Office of the Vice-Chancellor. Dr Erick Jones, dean of the College of Engineering, University of Nevada, Reno, handed over the signed MoU to Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Baskota.
