KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Tribhuvan University (TU) held its 44th convocation on Monday. Out of the total 73,901 graduates who passed between June 1, 2017 and June 14, 2018, from the TU colleges, about 10,000 took part in the convocation ceremony held on the premises of the Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk, on Monday.
According to TU, there are a total of some 73,901 graduates including PhD, Mphil, Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree holders. The total graduates include 24,703 from the Education stream, 22,609 from Management stream, 14,215 from Humanities and Social Science stream and 1,350 from Law stream. Similarly, a total of 5,955 were from Science and Technology, 2,712 from Engineering, 1,821 from Medical Sciences, 326 from Agriculture and Livestock Sciences and 210 from Forestry streams.

Prime Minister KP Oli also attended the convocation function. Prof Dr Mahendra P Lama, former vice chancellor of Sikkim University, was the chief guest.
Established in 1959, TU has now altogether 367,427 students pursuing their studies in different faculties and streams. TU has 1,146 campuses including 60 constituent campuses and one central campus across the country.
